I gave up elec. can openers a long time ago because none of them seemed to last very long. I tried several brands.

Now, the arthritis and carpal tunnel in my hand makes using the crank can opener somewhat difficult.

I don’t want it to take up much counter space, if any at all. I just want something that will remain useful for as long as possible.
Dear Gordon B: Unless you are only eating canned fruit, the majority of cans do NOT have pull rings. I can also tell you haven’t reached the age of aches & pains, not to mention debilitating conditions. Your time will come! Oh, yes.

Sometimes people don’t understand how to use their Pampered Chef Can Opener since it’s a little different. Hopefully this video will help.

I have a old Sunbeam electric can opener. Model 64s-2.
It hasnt been used in years. I just tested it and it seems to work.
But I’m concerned about possible oil or grease breakdown which might lead to motor breakdown.
The back panel unscrews exposing the gears and such.

My question is: Should I add oil or grease to some part of it? And if so…to where and what type of oil or grease?
